note : Dopo tre tentativi falliti a causa della regola sulle qualificaziioni d’uffcio De Adamich riesce a qualificare la Mclaren ALFA Romeo, torna così in F1 il motore milanese che aveva dominato il campionati 1950-51, da allora non si era più visto, se si escludono alcune partecipazioni nel Gp del Sud Africa, questo campionato sarà molto avaro di risultati per la Mclaren-ALFA e l’accoppiata si chiude a fine anno.
